A line of LGOC Garden Seat horse buses at Charing Cross (Strand), c1900. All the buses have passengers on the upper deck, and carry advertisements. Craven Street can be seen on the right; the buses are facing towards the junction with Northumberland Avenue, Whitehall and Trafalgar Square. A workman, possibly a window-cleaner, is standing on a cradle at first floor level of the building on the right-hand corner of Craven Street. Note the ornate clocks and the Union flag on the premises of S Smith & Son, immediately above the first bus
