The opening of the Piccadilly line extension to Heathrow Central by Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen accompanied by Mr J Graeme Bruce, Chief Operating Manager (Railways), rode in the cab of a1973 Stock train during the three-minute journey from Hatton Cross. The driver of the royal train was motorman Charles Belcher, the train guard Leslie Rowland. The train approaches the ceremonial ribbon as it pulls in to the station.
